WISHBONE ASH

The classic rock bands of the late ’60s and early ’70s enjoy a unique place in popular musical history.  The Beatles had gone their separate ways, Britain had already experienced the Blues Boom, and Psychedelia had made its impact.  The creative possibilities were infinite.

Wishbone Ash embarked on the nascent Progressive Rock scene in 1969, taking full advantage of a fertile musical environment where they produced a distinctive brand of melodic rock.  Inspired equally by British folk traditions and American jazz and R&B, the group played to public and critical acclaim.  Fifty years later, having pioneered the use of twin lead guitars, Wishbone Ash has gained worldwide recognition, based firmly on a regime of relentless touring.

The band is known to have had a heavy influence on The Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Thin Lizzy, Van Halen, Metallica, Dream Theater and many other iconic Classic Rock bands of The ’70s & ’80s as pioneers of the TWIN LEAD GUITAR sound.

The current lineup includes founding member Andy Powell, who handles lead vocals and trades guitar licks with Yorkshire’s Mark Abrahams.  Bassist Bob Skeat, a 25 year veteran of the band, drives the rhythm section along with Mike Truscott, one of the best of Britain’s new breed of drummers.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – WISHBONE ASH ANNOUNCES WORLDWIDE “WISHLIST” TOUR

**TOUR KICKS OFF THIS FALL IN THE US – WITH SELECT DATES FEATURING ARGUS LIVE**

Half a century spent touring while continually releasing live and studio albums, Wishbone Ash is now gearing up for their “Wish List Tour”, an evening of requests gathered from their fans on social media.

“I love the interactive element of this,” says Andy Powell, founding guitarist, vocalist and songwriter.”  We have so many chapters, lineups and flavours in our music. There’s more than 500 songs, and we continue to write new ones. It is fun to let the fans decide.”

“In some ways our career is like a smaller but global version of the Grateful Dead’s , where radio was not the primary path where people discovered our music,” Powell continues.  “Many of our fans came on board through word of mouth and exposure to our fan community.  With such a long and varied history, fans have followed us closely through certain eras during which they might have come of age musically speaking.  They’ll have their favorite songs that they’ll ask us to play.  So we decided to give them the show they want!”

Using Set, Fan, and their social media platforms, the band has gathered up the most requested songs which will form the ongoing world wide tour, beginning in the UK this Fall, and coming to America 07 November thru 07 December.

“I fully enjoy the VIP Experiences at the shows, and having that direct contact with our people, hearing their stories and they hearing ours.  I can tell that even diehard fans are amazed at the longevity of the band.  Our ongoing narrative of events that have triggered certain songs or tales of interacting with the greatest musicians at the time through our extensive travels.”

Continual touring has kept the band in top shape, and kept fans engaged to share their concert experiences with their friends, which continues to bring more fans, even through the pandemic period.

“It is so cool to see so many young people at our shows,” Powell says.  Many discover us through the vinyl craze, or a seasoned parent or friend.  In Europe, young people sometimes make up half the audience now.”

Powell’s 2016 release of his autobiography, “Eyes Wide Open: True Tales of a Wishbone Ash Warrior,” offers some of the story.  With Wishbone Ash, the story is always moving forward.  Their last studio album, Coat of Arms reached audiences on five continents.  The band is in pre-production for the next studio album.

A special “Wish List Tour” CD will be available at shows, featuring the songs that folks might be treated to from the show.

“It’s cool to realize that our concerts have become mini conventions of sorts for fans to interact with each other and the band,” Powell continues.  “It’s very much a community, like the jam bands have.  Case in point, on this last tour after being featured on the Cruise To The Edge rock cruise, a fan from Texas flew in by himself but I watched him during the course of multiple shows onwards up the East Coast being shown hospitality by other diehard Ash fans.  This music of ours gets to you!  I’ve seen this occur multiple times over the years with different shows where the fan community rallies around a newbie.”

In addition the interactive Wish List Tour and CD, the band has The BBC Sessions Box Set titled Surface to Air slated for release, a Coffee Table book, plus a new limited run of custom Andy Powell Flying V’s (the instrument he made famous) crafted by Tatalias Guitars of Brookfield, Connecticut.

Why is there a difference in price for available seats at The Music Room?

All seating at The Music Room is acquired with a first come, first served basis approach.  The Music Room provides all patrons with a live musical experience above and beyond your average concert hall, and supporting this vision are the 4 tiers of available seats at The Music Room.  With a nod to classic record sales certification, the 4 tiers are:  Diamond, Double Platinum, Platinum, and Gold.  Seats range in price based on several factors including artist availability and distance to the stage.

Do you have the same number of seats for each tier?

No.  The Diamond tier of seats only has 12 seats available.  These seats are 4 top rounds located right at the foot of the stage.  You cannot get any closer to the artist than these 12 seats.  These are considered premium seats and are usually purchased by the most ardent fans.

The Double Platinum sections features 4 top square tables and one special 2 top rectangle, and there are 14 seats available.  Still very close to the stage, these seats provide an exceptional view and personal experience.  Table no. 7 is a 2 top rectangle that sits just to the right of the stage and back approximately 6 feet.  It is an extremely popular table.

The Platinum section of seats has a mixture of 4 top squares, two 3 high top rounds, and 9 drink rail seats that are bar height.  The total number of seats in the Platinum section is 37.  These are all excellent seats and reside in the main room.  Depending on a viewer’s personal taste, a table, a high top, or a drink rail might be the right choice, but they are all fabulous and unobstructed.

Gold seating is available in the bar area and can be considered first come, first serve general admission.  Most of the seats are unobstructed but depending how patrons sit at the bar or high tops, there might be a slight obstruction.   Standing room is permitted in the Gold section. The sound is excellent and most Gold level tickets are purchased by patrons that want to be near the bar specifically or by patrons wanting to be further away from the stage by design.  Please refer to our pictures to determine if this area is what you are looking for.  There are only several seats available and mostly Standing Room.

PLEASE READ OUR SEATING CHART EXPLANATION.  GOLD TICKETS OR GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS (GA) HAVE LIMITED SEATING (FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVE IN THE BAR AREA) WITH THE REMAINDER STANDING ROOM ONLY.

*TICKET DISCLAIMER:  The Music Room has a NO REFUND POLICY.  In the event of a cancellation/reschedule, The Music Room will always honor the purchased ticket for the same seat and same artist at the original price.  If a show is cancelled and not rebooked, ticket holder will be issued a credit towards any future show/event at The Music Room.  Ticket holder assumes all risks, hazards, and dangers.  Event subject to change.  No ticket required for entry.  Please bring I.D*
