WILLIE J. LAWS

The Willie J Laws Band is one of the notable Blues acts of the region with a modern funky style that’s uniquely his own.  The band’s sound includes deep Texas roots music, add some funk, and jazz influenced bass patterns, and the influence of various Afro-Caribbean drum beats, a genre-bending sound tempered with a groove from Motown, Memphis, Muscle Shoals, the Gulf Cost of Texas, and New Orleans.  Willie J. Laws is “The Last Prophet of the Funky Texas Blues.”

Willie J Laws

A Texas guitar “gun slinger”, vocalist and song writer following in the footsteps of T-Bone Walker, Lightning Hopkins, Albert King and many others.  This music is the kind of real Texas soul, all mixed up with classic R&B, country, blues/funk that grows from the Texas soil.  Willie has performed nationally and internationally, including two tours of Russia at the invite of the US Consulate in St Petersburg.  Once the house band at The House of Blues/Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas and Margaritaville in New Orleans.  Winners of the Mass Blues Society Challenge 2011, Semi-finalists at the International Blues Competition 2012 and Beale St Kings Awards.  A two time nominee for New England Music Award; Best Blues Act 2015 and 2016, 2015 Nominee for Boston Music Award; Best Blues Act 2015.  Come see what many are calling the “Real Deal”.

Bruce Mattson

Pianist and Hammond B3 player Bruce Mattson is a graduate of Boston’s New England Conservatory of Music and a former member of the Gregg Allman Band.  Bruce has worked as a live performer and session musician with a wide range of artists including his own jazz/blues ensemble, New Orleans R&B quintet the Mattson Medeiros Band, funky Texas blues artist Willie J Laws, Allman Brothers Band drummer and founding member Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, New Orleans R&B saxophonist Dr. Charles Neville, blues rock guitarist Jon Butcher, country artist Keith Urban, pianist Chuck Leavell, and many others.

Osi Brathwaite

An explosive master of the drums, has been playing since he was a little boy, much of it playing the kit behind Steel Band competitions of the highest level, contributing to his distinctive style and flare.  Brathwaite has taken his drum skills into the blues scene, the Caribbean scene, the funk scene, and the rhythm and blues scene.  An incredibly versatile musician with a heart of gold.

Lenny Bradford

Odis & Helen’s baby boy, known as Lenny, has been playing the electric bass since he was 12 years old.  At 16, he started Classical lessons on the upright bass, learning the French bowing technique.  After graduation from High school, He went to the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, graduating with Class of 1980.  Being versatile in many styles, Lenny has played with Bo Diddley, Marilyn Maye, Betty Wright, Joe Bataan, Bobby Sanabria, Solomon Burke and Denny Laine.  In addition, for 32 years he has been the bass player in the National Center of Afro-American Artists production of Black Nativity by Langston Hughes.  This runs at the Paramount Theatre in downtown Boston every December.

Music has taken him all around the world, across the continental US. His musical talent has taken him to Turkey, Australia, Europe, Canada, Panama, the Caribbean and China.  Lenny formerly played bass with Joe Louis Walker, and is now the most recent addition to the Willie J Laws Band!

Why is there a difference in price for available seats at The Music Room?

All seating at The Music Room is acquired with a first come, first served basis approach.  The Music Room provides all patrons with a live musical experience above and beyond your average concert hall, and supporting this vision are the 4 tiers of available seats at The Music Room.  With a nod to classic record sales certification, the 4 tiers are:  Diamond, Double Platinum, Platinum, and Gold.  Seats range in price based on several factors including artist availability and distance to the stage.

Do you have the same number of seats for each tier?

No.  The Diamond tier of seats only has 12 seats available.  These seats are 4 top rounds located right at the foot of the stage.  You cannot get any closer to the artist than these 12 seats.  These are considered premium seats and are usually purchased by the most ardent fans.

The Double Platinum sections features 4 top square tables and one special 2 top rectangle, and there are 14 seats available.  Still very close to the stage, these seats provide an exceptional view and personal experience.  Table no. 7 is a 2 top rectangle that sits just to the right of the stage and back approximately 6 feet.  It is an extremely popular table.

The Platinum section of seats has a mixture of 4 top squares, two 3 high top rounds, and 9 drink rail seats that are bar height.  The total number of seats in the Platinum section is 37.  These are all excellent seats and reside in the main room.  Depending on a viewer’s personal taste, a table, a high top, or a drink rail might be the right choice, but they are all fabulous and unobstructed.

Gold seating is available in the bar area and can be considered first come, first serve general admission.  Most of the seats are unobstructed but depending how patrons sit at the bar or high tops, there might be a slight obstruction.   Standing room is permitted in the Gold section. The sound is excellent and most Gold level tickets are purchased by patrons that want to be near the bar specifically or by patrons wanting to be further away from the stage by design.  Please refer to our pictures to determine if this area is what you are looking for.  There are 24 Gold seats available and or Standing Room.
