THROUGH THE DOORS . TRIBUTE TO JIM MORRISON & THE DOORS
Through The Doors is a Multi-media Tribute to Jim Morrison and The Doors and has been touring since 1980. This re-creation of the sound, look and “feel” of an actual Doors concert is so complete, it never ceases to startle even the seasoned crew. And it starts right away. In the darkened theater, well before the band has taken the stage, anticipation runs hot and the chanting for “Jim” begins. Perhaps it is the audiences’ overwhelming desire to experience a true “Resurrection” that fuels the flames. Or, attribute it if you must, to a legend that survives, even grows, some 40 years after the mysterious death of James Douglas Morrison and the dissolution of his band.
Even now The Doors’ albums continue to sell and Jim’s face still appears on the covers of magazines, film, television and radio. They serve up the “Lizard King” on a daily basis, and still the masses pay homage in droves that surpass even the dizzying heights of the band’s popularity when still “alive”. And yet, a Through The Doors performance goes far beyond the simple duplication of a concert that would have been standard late 1960’s fare.
This performance is more akin to a Broadway show or Vegas Extravaganza with seasoned professional actor/musicians utilizing sound, staging, lighting, and projection equipment that audiences have come to expect. The effect is electrifying and the response has been phenomenal, as their longevity alone can testify to. So, sit back in your seat (for as long as you can), and get ready to travel through the Doors of perception, traverse space and time on a psychedelic, mind expanding dance-trance! Ladies and Gentlemen, Through The Doors!
GABE JOLICOEUR (Young Jim Morrison) Vocals – Gabriel Jolicoeur (Young Jim) has been a lover of Classic Rock since he was a little boy. At only 23, Gabe is the youngest member of the band but also the most fiery. Performing on stage for theater and singing for most of his life for school and for recreation, being on stage is where he feels most at home. He strives to deliver an authentic and “Jim-like” experience on stage to complement the experience of his fellow band members and try to transport the audience back to the late 1960s.
ERNIE POTTER (Jim Morrison) Lead Singer/Front man – At 6′ 3″ tall, the charismatic leader of Through The Doors looms “larger than life”. Ernie has been a poet as well as a professional touring musician (as a drummer and vocalist) for more than 33 years. Ernie’s identification with his character has taken him as far as France to visit Morrison’s final haunts and grave in his quest for ultimate authenticity. A master showman, his vocal technique goes beyond mimicry, taking on even the accent and the between-song patter you’d expect from Jim.
TOMMY “TOZE” ESTRELLA (Imaginary) Bass Guitar – The Doors didn’t actually have a bass player (those parts were usually handled by Ray Manzarek, the keyboard player). While not entirely “authentic”, the addition here fills out the sound and frees the other musicians to accomplish all the Doors intricacies that we’ve heard on the records, in a live situation. Toze is a veteran of one of the original Av ante-Garde Rock-Theater shows of the early 70’s. An accomplished player with state of the art equipment, Toze is hardly kept in the background. A born entertainer, he often provides a comic relief – playing off the sometimes didactic Jim Morrison characterizations.
TIM PAUL (John Densmore) Percussion – Tim is the original Through The Doors percussionist. While in college Tim played with bands that included jazz, country, rock, pit bands for theater and other styles of music. In 2006 Tim was recalled to duty to perform with Through the Doors. Tim is the consummate John Densmore drummer. Studying Densmore’s style and nuances, Tim has found that balance between studio recording and Densmore’s creativity in live performance. Tim’s sense of rhythm, time signature and coordination make him the perfect match for Through The Doors.
ADRIAN COHEN (Ray Manzarek) Keyboards – Adrian is a Berklee College of Music graduate in piano/songwriting and proudly recreates the look and sound of the highly talented and well-dressed Doors keyboardist. When not performing with Through the Doors, Adrian plays at open mic nights and various gigs, where he’s earned the reputation of being a human jukebox for having such an expansive inventory. Playing by ear and having perfect pitch have enabled him to faithfully recreate vocals, guitars, drums, etc. – all on keyboards. Adrian is also a solo artist with goals of licensing his original music for TV/movies/ads, writing for established artists, writing jingles, or just becoming a rock star himself. He has released 5 albums of original indie rock and had songs on a few Grammy ballots. He was in the finals of New England’s Got Talent a few times and had one of his Christmas songs appear on The Young and the Restless twice. Adrian releases a new catchy, family-friendly Christmas song every year. His music typically features professional singers, who bring his songs to a new level.
Why is there a difference in price for available seats at The Music Room?
All seating at The Music Room is acquired with a first come, first served basis approach. The Music Room provides all patrons with a live musical experience above and beyond your average concert hall, and supporting this vision are the 4 tiers of available seats at The Music Room. With a nod to classic record sales certification, the 4 tiers are: Diamond, Double Platinum, Platinum, and Gold. Seats range in price based on several factors including artist availability and distance to the stage.
Do you have the same number of seats for each tier?
No. The Diamond tier of seats only has 12 seats available. These seats are 4 top rounds located right at the foot of the stage. You cannot get any closer to the artist than these 12 seats. These are considered premium seats and are usually purchased by the most ardent fans.
The Double Platinum sections features 4 top square tables and one special 2 top rectangle, and there are 14 seats available. Still very close to the stage, these seats provide an exceptional view and personal experience. Table no. 7 is a 2 top rectangle that sits just to the right of the stage and back approximately 6 feet. It is an extremely popular table.
The Platinum section of seats has a mixture of 4 top squares, two 3 high top rounds, and 9 drink rail seats that are bar height. The total number of seats in the Platinum section is 37. These are all excellent seats and reside in the main room. Depending on a viewer’s personal taste, a table, a high top, or a drink rail might be the right choice, but they are all fabulous and unobstructed.
Gold seating is available in the bar area and can be considered first come, first serve general admission. Most of the seats are unobstructed but depending how patrons sit at the bar or high tops, there might be a slight obstruction. Standing room is permitted in the Gold section. The sound is excellent and most Gold level tickets are purchased by patrons that want to be near the bar specifically or by patrons wanting to be further away from the stage by design. Please refer to our pictures to determine if this area is what you are looking for. There are only several seats available and mostly Standing Room.
PLEASE READ OUR SEATING CHART EXPLANATION. GOLD TICKETS OR GENERAL ADMISSION TICKETS (GA) HAVE LIMITED SEATING (FIRST-COME, FIRST SERVE IN THE BAR AREA) WITH THE REMAINDER STANDING ROOM ONLY.
