LEGENDS OF BOSTON COMEDY – PAUL D’ANGELO, KENNY ROGERSON, DAVE RUSSO & HOST, JOHNNY PIZZI

PAUL D’ANGELO

Paul Murphy spent almost eleven years as an Assistant District Attorney, supervising several of Massachusetts’s busiest courthouses, before building a reputation as a noted criminal-defense trial attorney.  The unexpected twist to this story is that, for nine of those years, under the pseudonym of Paul D’Angelo, Paul was simultaneously becoming one of the nation’s top standup comedians.

Combining an energetic, charismatic stage presence and spontaneous improvisational talent with an endless array of intelligent humor delivered in an animated style that grabs and holds the attention of crowds everywhere he performs, Paul’s constantly evolving and diverse selection of original material “takes normal everyday experiences and makes them sound absolutely hilarious.”  Critics further write that “(Paul D’Angelo) is an energetic performer who gives a peak performance at every show.”  “His quick comedic mind,” “unique observations” and “down to earth, stop-and-think humor” “keeps the crowd in hysterics.”

“Paul is as funny, and arguably funnier, than just about all of the most famous standup comedians in the country.”

Paul recently co-starred in Showtime’s popular stand-up comedy movie, ‘The Godfathers of Comedy’, and has also released two DVDs and three critically acclaimed comedy CDs that are played regularly on national radio.  In addition, Paul is the writer/director/co-star of the original sitcom pilot ‘A Fine Mess’ which was featured at the prestigious New York International Independent Film Festival.

KENNY ROGERSON

Ken Rogerson started his comedy career working the Chicago club circuit and at the famed Second City.  After touring with the improvisational troupe The Comedy Rangers, Ken moved east and became a central part of the now famous and infamous exploding Boston comedy scene of the 1980’s as documented in the film “When Standup Stood Out.”  There he honed his standup act to a fine edge “sharp enough to cut the head off a rabbit at thirty yards.”  He’s been a part of the Rescue Me Comedy Tour and the Billy Gardell Showtime Special you may also have seen him as “Kevin the Biker Fireman” on F/X’s hit show “Rescue Me” starring Denis Leary or as “Pat the Cop” on ABC’s “It’s All Relative” with Lenny Clarke.  He has also made numerous other television appearances on such shows as NBC’s , “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, “The Late Show with David Letterman”, “Comics Come Home” for Comedy Central and Showtime’s “A Pair of Jokes” just to name a few.  Of the time he spends working in Los Angeles, Rogerson says “Being in L.A. is weird for me, because I grew up on Earth.”

A national headliner, Ken has performed all over the world.  A favorite at Festivals, he appeared at The Boston Comedy Festival with Lewis Black and Friends and the TBS Comedy Festival in Las Vegas. The Boston Herald says “He makes the absurd seem logical” Las Vegas Magazine wrote, “As far as pure stand-up goes, it doesn’t get any better than Rogerson.”  Others have written “He is fall-down on the floor funny! Why doesn’t this guy have his own show?” and “He’s as funny a comic as Boston has produced.”  A writer, sketch player, actor and comedian, Ken wrote and starred in comedy film pieces on Fox Television Network’s “Sunday Comics” and has made film appearances in “Fever Pitch” and “There’s Something About Mary.”  He has written several episodes for USA Network’s comedy, “Sirens” created by Denis Leary.  Life with Ken Rogerson is a wild ride. “I was out driving the other day and I had an accident. I hit a lake.”

JOHNNY PIZZI

Johnny Pizzi has been doing comedy over 30 years.  He has been a fixture not only on the Boston Comedy Scene but all over New England and East Coast as well.  He’s also the unofficial Magician of The New England Patriots.  Johnny has the keen ability to tailor his comedy to any type of crowd.

Why is there a difference in price for available seats at The Music Room?

All seating at The Music Room is acquired with a first come, first served basis approach.  The Music Room provides all patrons with a live musical experience above and beyond your average concert hall, and supporting this vision are the 4 tiers of available seats at The Music Room.  With a nod to classic record sales certification, the 4 tiers are:  Diamond, Double Platinum, Platinum, and Gold.  Seats range in price based on several factors including artist availability and distance to the stage.

Do you have the same number of seats for each tier?

No.  The Diamond tier of seats only has 12 seats available.  These seats are 4 top rounds located right at the foot of the stage.  You cannot get any closer to the artist than these 12 seats.  These are considered premium seats and are usually purchased by the most ardent fans.

The Double Platinum sections features 4 top square tables and one special 2 top rectangle, and there are 14 seats available.  Still very close to the stage, these seats provide an exceptional view and personal experience.  Table no. 7 is a 2 top rectangle that sits just to the right of the stage and back approximately 6 feet.  It is an extremely popular table.

The Platinum section of seats has a mixture of 4 top squares, two 3 high top rounds, and 9 drink rail seats that are bar height.  The total number of seats in the Platinum section is 37.  These are all excellent seats and reside in the main room.  Depending on a viewer’s personal taste, a table, a high top, or a drink rail might be the right choice, but they are all fabulous and unobstructed.

Gold seating is available in the bar area and can be considered first come, first serve general admission.  Most of the seats are unobstructed but depending how patrons sit at the bar or high tops, there might be a slight obstruction.   Standing room is permitted in the Gold section. The sound is excellent and most Gold level tickets are purchased by patrons that want to be near the bar specifically or by patrons wanting to be further away from the stage by design.  Please refer to our pictures to determine if this area is what you are looking for.  There are 24 Gold seats available and or Standing Room.

*TICKET DISCLAIMER:  The Music Room has a NO REFUND POLICY.  In the event of a cancellation/reschedule, The Music Room will always honor the purchased ticket for the same seat and same artist at the original price.  If a show is cancelled and not rebooked, ticket holder will be issued a credit towards any future show/event at The Music Room.  Ticket holder assumes all risks, hazards, and dangers.  Event subject to change.  No ticket required for entry.  Please bring I.D*
